TangO is an audio and video tangible object controller powered by reacTIVision software. It is an interactive project allowing participants to control sound and light with intuitive objects on a translucent surface.

The project is being built by Rob Baker, David Heap, Gary Naylor and Drew Hammond, and is backed by NXNW Festival.

Testing out the TangO tables a couple of days before they go public, Heapy on the music side and DJ Stuff on the video side

A sneak peek at today's work on the TangO - with new logo and proper visual feedback!

More software calibration up at the workshop today, we seem to be getting great visual feedback.

PureData is running nice and stable, and the circles are following the fiducials properly.

Rob B spent a lot of the afternoon swearing, and will have table 2 built by this time next week.

It's been software day down at the workshop today. Gaz brought along the TUIO/pd implementations he's been working on for the visual feedback system, and after a few minor tweaks we got it up and running.

By the end of the day we had white boxes following the fiducials around the screen, as seen below:

Work continued apace on the hardware for the project this week at the workshop. We have built a wooden frame for the first table, and tested projector/mirror setups to get a good image on the perspex.

To allow projection and fiducial detection at the same time, the webcams must now be converted to infrared.

We are also working on the audio/visual content and the visual feedback system (based on TUIO and PureData)

Seen here are the results of the first projector test, and Rob B building the first table.
